WASHINGTON — Walmart said Wednesday it will open as many as 4,000 more stores in the U.S. and Canada in the coming years.
The retail giant said in a statement that it will add at least 2,000 stores to its U.K. footprint over the next four years.
Walmart plans to open the new stores at the locations in Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Norwich and Sunderland.
Walton is expected to add 1,000 or more new stores a year in the United States and Canada by the end of 2019.
The company plans to double that number by 2020.
Walmons stores opened in the UK in 2014 and in the US in 2017.
